Romano Fenati Wins Moto3 in Texas – After America GP is Re-Started

Italian Romano Fenati won the Moto3 Grand Prix of the Americas with four and a half seconds of daylight between him and ex-Red Bull Rookie Jorge Martin at COTA last Sunday. It was a big first win for Fenati after the race was red-flagged and restarted on lap 3 due to an accident involving Kaito Toba, who fortunately got up and walked away. Youngster Fabio Di Giannantonio fought hard from behind to get up to third at the end.

After the re-start Fenati and Aron Canet shared the lead until Canet went flying over the bars leaving Fenati a clear gap till the flag. It was not so easy for Jorge Martin who won a seven rider battle for second to make it three podiums in a row and enough points to move him to second in the championship, cutting Joan Mir’s lead to just six points. Mir who won the first two rounds in Qatar and Argentina could only manage an eighth place in America.
