Is Kawasaki a Good Brand for Motorcycles?

Jobin and his friends all go adventure riding together and the more they ride the more serious they are getting. Most of Jobin’s friends have already switched to BMW Adventure bikes. So, on recommendation from his good friend Deepak, he contacted Brent at Procycles BMW Hornsby to sort out a great deal on the BMW F800 GS Triple Black.

Jobin’s new 2026 BMW is a premium mid-weight adventure tourer. And to celebrate the occasion, Jobin’s family came along to see him collecting his new bike. 

Bala had always loved the look of the BMW R12 nineT Highline. When he decided he just had to have one, Bala came into Procycles BMW Hornsby and our man Brent took him through all the features and then arranged a test ride. Bala was hooked with his ride. He sat straight down with Brent to discuss the details and order his options. It took a couple of months for the bike to be built to his specifications. The time flew by and it wasn’t long before Bala was back to collect his awesome new machine. Then Bala added engine protection bars to protect that amazing Boxer motor.

Junyan is an avid motorcycle enthusiast who has always had a passion for high-performance bikes. When it came time to update, Junyan spent a considerable amount of time looking at his options in the Superbike category. After exhausting research and comparing all the litre bikes, Junyan decided that the one for him was this stunning Matte Black Yamaha YZF-R1. Junyan got in touch with the sales team at Procycles Yamaha in the City, at St Peters. We had a great chat and put together a deal that suited him perfectly.

Kim has had a ball on his R1250 GS, getting out of the city, going on adventure trips with his friends, clocking up lots of klm’s and making memories. But there comes a time when you risk getting left behind, and your mates never stop reminding you.

Kim started looking at the latest BMW range and thought the F900 GS Adventure in Triple Black ticked all the boxes, particularly with the option of off-road tyres. He came into Procycles BMW Hornsby, almost ready to do the deal – until Kim’s mates got in his ear, telling him to forget the 900. What he really needed was a new BMW R1300 GS! It was only a matter of time before FOMO kicked in and Kim succumbed to their pressure. Just kidding, Kim loved the look of the all-new R1300 GS Trophy colour and he had a great time going through all the options, adding the Enduro Pack Pro, Auto Shift Assist, Adaptive Height Control and Forged Wheels to his order. Finally, his new bike arrived and now Kim can’t wait to get out riding with his mates. They are going to wish he bought the 900.

John is always welcome at Procycles BMW Hornsby. He’s back for his third bike from us, trading his R1250 RS for this quality second hand R1300 GS Trophy. 

This bike was a trade in good nick, but it still went into our workshop for a 40-point health check and a detail before it was allowed on pour showroom floor. Dan is a great friend to Procycles BMW Hornsby and has bought lots of  bikes from us over the years. Lots of serious sport bikes. But sometimes Dan wants to just jump on, twist and go. Down to the shops, a quick commute, or off to a mate’s place.

So Dan popped in to see us and grabbed a BMW C400 GT ion, purely for the convenience. The perfect bike for when you are doing nothing special, without sacrificing style, safety, comfort and performance.

David is progressing through his motorcycling journey in a sensible way. He started on his Yamaha R3 and has now moved on to a Yamaha R7 as his next upgrade. Bruce recently bought himself a CF Moto to cruise around on, but he found the seating position didn’t suit him and he couldn’t get comfortable. So, Bruce came in to see us at Procycles Kawasaki in Hornsby, to check out our latest Cruiser range. One sit on Kawasaki’s Vulcan S was all it took. Bruce instantly settled into Kawasaki’s legendary Ergo-Fit ergonomics system. Brent heads up our Procycles BMW Hornsby showroom. He was really looking forward to taking his trusty BMW 1250 GSA down to Tasmania for the GS Rally a few months ago. What Brent didn’t know was that he would be leaving it there, after a mishap. Not to worry. It was a good excuse to trade up to an all-new BMW 1300 GS Adventure Trophy, fitted  with Adaptive Height Control, the Enduro Pro package and Forged Wheels and a Top Box. Brent also added a Wunderlich Extreme Bash plate, Wunderlich Headlight Protector, Bark Busters and STEDI Spotlights.

 Understandably, first day on the bike, Brent did the obligatory Putty Rd Loop and loved every minute of it. 

A bit of a change for Mick from his CBR1100 Blackbird to this immaculate BMW R1200 GS Adventure, in as new condition and with full-service history in its logbook with us. At Procycles BMW Sydney this is the perfect scenario. We originally sold the GSA, we maintained it, we traded it, and we can on-sell the bike to Mick with confidence, knowing that everything has been done right. When the GSA arrived back to Procycles, it went into our workshop for its compulsory health check, we addressed any issues and detailed the bike for our showroom. Now, for a motorcycle that’s over 15 years old, it looks amazing.

It’s so important to stick with your originating dealer, build a relationship and in the advent of something going astray, you have a better chance of being supported and your goodwill with the brand being recognised. All the best to Mick and we wish him many happy adventures.

Lisa came into Procycles Kawasaki Hornsby a week ago with Keith, one of our previous customers. She was in the market for her first bike and wanted to see all of the options available. We sat her on most of our LAMS approved bikes and she felt most comfortable on Kawasaki’s Z500 SE, everything fitted perfectly. This is a familiar story with Kawasaki’s LAMS bikes. Their Ergo-Fit system lets you tweak your comfort level so that everything is within reach. 

The 2026 Kawasaki Z500 SE Supernaked features a 451cc parallel-twin engine, combining 33.4 kW of smooth power with a lightweight of only 167 kg, so it’s really easy to handle. The Special Edition (SE) adds a full-colour TFT display, USB-C outlet, unique graphics, and premium accessories like a pillion seat cover and frame sliders

Lisa didn’t hesitate but to place a deposit and then came in this week to pick it up. She scored a helmet and a pair of gloves too. The Kawasaki Z500 SE is $10,121 ride away and now comes with a free $500 fuel voucher.

John and his BMW F800 GS have been in a very happy relationship for many years, sharing great times and making lots of memories together. A bit like a marriage … except a lot cheaper. When the time came to replace his old faithful, only a brand-new BMW F900 GS Enduro would do.

 The BMW F900 GS a significant, "hardcore" off-road-focused upgrade from the previous F850 GS, featuring a 14 kg weight reduction and a more powerful parallel-twin engine. It offers superb, fully adjustable Showa/Sachs suspension, making it highly capable on dirt. The Bimota Tesi H2 is powered by Kawasaki’s 1000cc inline-four supercharged engine. Hand built in Italy using premium materials, this machine is truly in a class of its own. With only 250 Tesi H2s produced worldwide, and just 80 finished in Full Carbon. The bike also features its own unique steering system known as Dual Hub Centre Steering, completely removing the need for traditional front forks.

A very special congratulations to Paul on his purchase of the Full Carbon Bimota Tesi H2, an incredibly exclusive machine and one of the rarest motorcycles available today. But don’t despair, there’s still one left - in case anybody out there is interested.

Nuo had been riding a Kawasaki Ninja 400 and came into Procycles Kawasaki Hornsby to step up to a brand-new Ninja ZX-4RR. A great move. The ZX-4RR is a high-revving Supersport that pumps out 76bhp from its liquid-cooled 399cc inline four-cylinder engine that really howls when nudging it’s 16,000+ rpm powerband. Weighing only 189kg, the ZX-4RR has a superior power-to-weight ratio to the competition, the brakes are predictable and the bike handles perfectly thanks to a nimble, balanced chassis. And Nuo had our Procycles workshop fit a pair of Oggy knobs just in case.

Greg is another mad-keen adventure rider who knows the only motorcycle that will do the job is BMW’s R13000 GS. Like a lot of us, Greg has ridden everything, reads all the material, keeps track of the latest models, ignores the armchair experts and comes back to the Boxer-powered BMW every time. At Procycles BMW Sydney, at St Peters, we get it. We don't need to reinforce the features of these bikes, we just concentrate on delivering a far superior BMW buying experience.

And doesn’t Greg's new GS look stunning in the latest White Aluminium Metallic Matt colour scheme. Model by model, these bikes just keep getting better and staying way ahead of the competition. Matthew was looking for a solid dirt bike. Nothing too crazy, but nothing boring either. Andrew had a brief flirtation with a Ducati, but it wasn’t long before he was back to Procycles BMW Sydney for a brand new BMW R1300 Trophy X. Andrew’s a returning Procycles customer, so he knew where to go for a motorcycle with real, all-terrain adventure capability.

Jim got his rocks off for a while on a BMW M1000 XR, the high-performance 999cc inline-four, with 201hp, explosive acceleration and advanced electronics. BMW says it combines racetrack capability with long-distance comfort. But comfort was the last thing on Jim’s mind when he was riding the World’s Fastest Sports Tourer, capable of a top speed over 275 km/h (170+ mph).

But now it’s back to reality for Jim, and back to a Boxer engine and the real long-distance comfort of the latest BMW R1300 RT Impulse.

The 2026 BMW R1300 RT, particularly with the optional high-spec "Impulse" pack, is the luxurious yet surprisingly sporty "new king" of touring motorcycles. The Impulse variant has specialized aesthetic and performance upgrades and even more advanced touring features.

Even standard, the new RT comes with every conceivable performance and safety feature, including advanced tech, Adaptive Cruise Control and optional Automatized Shift Assistant (ASA). The 1300cc boxer engine produces 145 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque, offering incredible, punchy performance while maintaining all-day comfort-oriented ergos.

Craig came into Procycles BMW Hornsby for a test ride on one of our BMW R1300 GS demonstrators. He loved it so much he bought our other one. Craig went for the Trophy variant because it was fitted with Adaptive Height Control, Automated Shift Assist and also the Enduro Pro Package.

Samuel and his wife love going on adventures. He had a smaller bike and they went on lots of trips together. But it was all a bit cramped and not that comfortable. Matteo updated his BMW G310 R to a brand-new BMW F900 R, from Procycles BMW Sydney. A wise choice. Model by model, the F900 R has evolved into an incredibly premium and polished middleweight naked, powered by a 105hp parallel-twin with a 270-degree crank that sounds great and will propel the rider to a top speed of over 200 km/h (134 mph), with some riders reporting up to 230 km/h.

The latest model receives refined racier ergonomics, technological updates and fully adjustable forks, to compliment the great brakes, comfortable seating, and sporty feel. 

It’s not a rocket ship … but it is very rideable, responsive, and ready to go at any stage of the rev range. And the handling is impeccable. Sharp and easily controllable.  You can confidently manage superbike levels of lean angle without touching.

The BMW F900 R is a lot more than comfortable everyday commuting.

Adam was very lucky to be able to find a new BMW S1000 RR Sport. He did the right thing by approaching Procycles BMW Sydney. The response from most dealers was there is no stock available. But Procycles are Australia’s biggest dealer, so even though stock is limited, we were able to get Adam hooked up.



There is a reason why these motorcycles are so rare. The BMW S1000 RR Sport is a top-tier superbike that balances ferocious 210hp track performance with surprising road usability. It features advanced electronics, 30mm wings for downforce, and an improved, user-friendly, refined engine with strong bottom-end, and a comfortable, yet aggressive, riding position.



The ShiftCam engine is highly tractable, with a 210hp power delivery that’s smooth and manageable. It also has 113 Nm of torque and a "quick throttle". It features advanced, top-notch, intuitive electronics, including cornering ABS, traction control, and multiple riding modes.



Owners praise the S1000 RR for its incredible agility. The handling is often described as being "telepathic," precise and stable in corners, especially with the optional carbon wheels. This is a superbike you can live with. The creature comforts include cruise control, and effective wind protection.

Michael already has a BMW M1000 R for when he needs some excitement on the road and for when he needs to test himself on a track day. So, when Michael came in to Procycles BMW Sydney he was looking for a bike that was not too taxing to ride but still has good power and a great vibe. The new BMW R12 G/S fitted the brief perfectly. Michael loved the styling and the retro looks. And, as with every BMW, the very high level of finish and feel was immediately noticeable..

Michael is about to find out this jacked up off-roader is a capable scrambler with a cool engine and enough suspension and protection to ride pretty hard when he gets off-road. Truth is, thanks to its torquey air-cooled boxer engine and natural balance, it's genuinely easy and enjoyable to ride both on and off-road. The riding position is excellent. The wide bars give great leverage, and standing on the pegs is really comfortable. The rider aids are excellent - intuitive and unobtrusive.

Michael will also be surprised by how good the transmission feels. A 21" front wheel and a tall first gear makes riding on dirt/gravel roads lots of fun, until he clicks up a notch and things get serious.

Eos upgraded from Honda CMX500 to this beautiful BMW R nineT with the iconic brushed aluminium tank. She was recommended by a friend to come and see us at Procycles BMW Sydney. Eos sat on a few of the bikes, but she kept coming back to the R nineT. Li has campaigned a heap of GS Adventures and now he’s ready to mix up the garage and add a new BMW M1000 R to the lineup, he says for commuting …. but at Procycles BMW Sydney, we think otherwise. Matteo stepped up from his G310 R to a new BMW F900 R. The perfect transition. Patrick went over the bike forensically and then went home to think about it. But not for long. Soon he was back with a fist full of dollars and ready to ride it away.

After years of hard work Pete and Sue have earned their ‘me’ time. Matt came into Procycles KTM at Hornsby and wanted to put the cart before the horse. He was yet to get his L’s, but bought himself a bike whilst he was waiting. The last time we saw Jin at Procycles BMW Sydney he rode out on a BMW R nineT retro-roadster. Now Jin has decided to score himself the perfect zip around town transport on this new BMW C400 GT with extra SHAD Top Box storage.

Gof came into Procycles Yamaha Hornsby with his mate Sam, who was looking at purchasing an Yamaha XMAX for everyday commuter use. While Gof was waiting for Sam to finish up the deal, Gof took a liking to our 2025 Yamaha R1 and gave us a deposit to hold it. He had a bike to trade, so Gof came in the following weekend for a 40-point inspection of his old bike and to finalize his R1 deal. These Yamaha R1’s have come a long way in significant recent model updates. Gof now gets a refined, track-focused superbike, with a feather-light clutch, and amazingly responsive braking capabilities with new Brembo Stylema callipers, updated KYB gold suspension, and functional carbon fibre winglets for improved downforce and effortless control, even at high speeds. The R1 retains the explosive 998cc CP4 crossplane engine and comprehensive electronics, offering a smooth, linear power delivery, with a smoother throttle response compared to previous models. Yamaha has also introduced a new, grippier seat texture to stop the g-forces edging you off the back. This new Yamaha R1 really does rev your heart.

Casimiro was super happy with his 2019 S1000RR M Sport, so there was no doubt what his next new bike was going to be – the latest gen S1000RR M Sport, from Procycles BMW Sydney.

His old bike was awesome, but Casimiro is going to find the new one on another level. This high-performance superbike delivers 210hp, (154kW) at 13,750rpm and 113Nm at 11,00rpm, with speeds north of 280km/h quite possible. The M Sport now features advanced aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fibre wheels, making it a formidable, track-focused machine that is surprisingly comfortable for road use. It’s ridiculously easy to ride and manageable at low revs, until you “let it off the chain” and then it becomes “eye-watering” at high speed.

Casimiro gets adjustable suspension, plenty of electronics, a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, and trick M winglets taken from last year’s M 1000 RR. It takes a while to figure out how BMW’s various electronic safety systems work, but the level of detail, and how everything integrates so perfectly without hinderance, is mind-boggling. From advanced cornering ABS and six-stage cornering traction control to slip/slide control, brake slide assist, and seven highly customisable ride modes. Impressively, you barely notice any of the features in action. And all of this in a bike that weighs 198kg wet.
