Note and our recommendation
Motorcycles are often designed so that – when an engine protection bar is installed – the footrest and protection bar touch down almost simultaneously at a lean angle that remains within the safe limits of tyre adhesion. It is important to be aware that various factors, such as the motorcycle’s load or when riding through a dip or pothole, can restrict the possible lean angle.

This GUARD engine protection bar offers the perfect compromise between maximum protection and low weight

During the design process of the GUARD engine protection bar, maximum protective effect and optimum lean angle clearance were the main focus.

It reliably protects the cylinders and valve covers. The all-round protection concept increases passive safety and enhances riding enjoyment. In the event of a fall or tip-over, the forces are optimally distributed through the bar structure to the solid mounting points, effectively avoiding stress peaks and reducing material strain.

The protection bar structure is made of 25 mm precision steel tubing. The segments are CNC-bent and then neatly welded. Visually, the bar integrates harmoniously into the motorcycle’s design and complements its distinctive appearance. It is also compatible with the original BMW cylinder head protection and the Option 719 milled parts ignition coil cover. Our GUARD protection bar is maintenance-friendly: oil drain plug and filter cartridge remain fully accessible without removing the bar.
