Wunderlich Oil Cooler Guard – maintains cooling performance and prevents overheating

For an oil cooler to provide its optimal cooling performance, it must be optimally exposed to and passed through by the airflow. The function of the oil cooler is particularly important for maintaining a healthy thermal balance in the air-oil cooled engine. It is positioned in the airflow of the ride wind. However, this has a disadvantage: The oil cooler is exposed to whirled-up dirt, stones, and foreign objects that hit the delicate fins of the oil cooler. Over time, dirt and insects can clog the cooler network and reduce cooling performance just as much as fins bent by "stone chips". In the worst case, sharp-edged foreign objects can cause damage that leads to leaks. With a damaged cooler, continuing to ride is no longer possible.

Therefore, we recommend our oil protection mesh, which consists of a fine-meshed, tough and resistant stainless steel mesh to avoid damage and catch heavy contamination before it affects the oil cooler. It reliably protects the oil cooler without reducing airflow.

Tip

If you want to clean the cooler laboriously by hand, you must do so with extreme care to avoid damaging the cooler network. Accumulated flies, etc., can be easily removed with a damp cloth. Place the damp cloth on the mesh until the dirt is loosened by the moisture and can be wiped away easily and without residue.
