It protects the tank and the frame in the area of the control head from serious damage if your bike falls over or is ever involved in a crash/accident.Even more importantly,it also protects your hands and arms from getting wedged in. We're talking about the steering stop. This is a small and unassuming metal cuboid that determines the maximum turning angle of the handlebars and is intended to prevent the bike from falling over at full steering lock. In other words,it represents a worthwhile feature. However,it also comes with one caveat: the welded-on or forged,often inadequately dimensioned stops can get bent or even snap off due to the steering forces applied. This then inevitably voids the general operating license,as the frame is then no longer in compliance with the road safety rules. So as you can see,this rather unassuming component is critical for the passing the MOT.

The original steering stops,the frame and the tank are all reliably protected by our limiters,which rest against a suitable and stable part of the frame at maximum steering lock,thereby reducing the risk of damage. If your bike ever falls over or is involved in a crash,they limit and dampen the steering angle with their large rubber blocks before the severe forces reach the standard steering stops. The material characteristics of the limiters have been selected so that the stop damping is initially soft and then increases progressively as more steering lock is applied. They absorb the impact energy,protect the original steering stops and reduce the risk of the standard steering stops getting bent or even snapped off.
If you're ever involved in a crash,the limiters obviously also create space for your hands and lower arms,thereby reducing the risk of them getting stuck.
For technical reasons,the protective function leads to a minor reduction in steering lock,although this is scarcely noticeable in day-to-day riding situations. The function of the steering lock is obviously not impaired.
The two steering stop limiters are very easy to fit. They are first attached to the fork rods using a strip of high-grade 3M adhesive tape,which is applied in such a way that it remains concealed,and then additionally with a rugged cable tie that rests in the slot provided for this purpose and remains scarcely visible.
