Second Hand Motorbikes & What to Look For

Richard is a long term Procycles BMW Hornsby customer and already has one M Sport in his garage. Richard already owns a BMW M1000 XR, and he loves it so much he thought he would add to his collection. To make a pigeon-pair, Richard scored himself a BMW M1000 R Competition.

This is a high-performance hyper-naked motorcycle with incredible power and torque. It’s easy and civilised to ride at low speeds, but when you light it up, you better hang on tight. Just as well it has excellent brakes. This rocket ship features a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine with ShiftCam, producing 154 kW (210hp) and 113 Nm of torque.

The 2025 BMW M1000 R Competition is the Bikesales Bike of the Year. Key updates for this model year include larger aerodynamic winglets for increased downforce, a revised quick-action throttle (58°), and an updated Dynamic Traction Control and Race ABS Pro system. The bike is equipped with M Carbon wheels, M Billet parts, a Titanium exhaust, and comes in a M Motorsport colour scheme of stunning M graphics over Black Storm Metallic.

Kurt was spending the day riding around Sydney, visiting different dealerships to see what bikes were available. He wasn’t set on anything specific - just exploring his options. While making his rounds, he called in to see us at Procycles St Peters, we are Sydney’s newest Yamaha dealer, and Kurt came in to check out our latest showroom.

One bike immediately caught Kurt’s attention - the 2024 Yamaha XSR900GP. A retro-styled motorcycle that blends the glory days of ’80s and ’90s road racing with modern tech. Inspired by Yamaha’s Grand Prix heritage and heavily influenced by the racebikes, this GP edition isn’t just a nod to nostalgia, it's one of the best all-rounder sportsters Yamaha has ever produced.

The XSR900GP isn't just a looker. With its perfect blend of power, performance, and the XSR900GP runs the same 889cc CP3 triple-cylinder engine found in the latest MT-09 and Tracer 9 GT. That means 117 hp and 93Nm of torque, from an engine that feels alive in every part of the rev range. Yamaha’s crossplane concept delivers a barky, raw power delivery that makes the GP feel like a lightweight superbike with the soul of a two-stroke. Plus, under the skin, lies the latest in cutting-edge technologies. Modern tech like three ride modes, Sport, Street and Rain, complemented by the ability to create two custom modes where you can fine-tune throttle response, traction control, and more. Kurt also gets adjustable suspension, cornering ABS, and slide control.

Procycles Yamaha Sydney, also offered Kurt a massive rebate that made it an unbeatable deal. Kurt saved $4,500 off the retail price, bringing down his on-road cost to $16,999.

Daniel came into Procycles Yamaha Sydney, at St Peters, looking for a solid and reliable scooter. He had recently heard that we were now Yamaha dealers, so he gave us a call to find out more. After speaking with one of our salesmen, Daniel mentioned that he was after a 2025 Yamaha NMAX.

The NMAX is a scooter in very high demand, but we managed to secure one. Once we let Daniel know, he came straight in with his deposit.

The new NMAX features a new engine, frame and drive system, high comfort suspension, combined with a premium electronics package. This third generation NMAX 155 takes entry level sports scooters to an even more sophisticated ride. In finding the balance between the new engine and new frame, the front and rear suspension settings were optimised to achieve a comfortable ride. In addition, new lightweight cast wheels reduce unsprung weight. The NMAX also has Traction Control and optimised front and rear disc brakes with Dual channel ABS.

NMAX 155 uses a Smart Key System. If the rider has the Smart Key on them, the machine detects its presence, without needing to insert the key itself. The underseat storage compartment offers a 23.3 L capacity and a full-face helmet fits inside. Download the Yamaha Connect app to access Smartphone information like calls, e-mails or text messages and remaining battery level. Other features include: Handy front pockets near the rider on both sides with a 12v socket for charging accessories.

Yosef came into our Procycles Kawasaki Hornsby store last week to have a look at our range of LAMS approved bikes. He had ridden a Ninja 300 in the past, but that was a long while ago. They were happy days and Yosef was keen to get back into it. When he saw the new generation Kawasaki Ninja 500 and how much the bike had improved since back then, it was a no-brainer. He put down a deposit and was back in a few days for new bike day.

The Ninja 500 is a big improvement on the old Ninja 300’s already great platform, with a larger 451cc twin-cylinder engine, more aggressive styling, LED lighting, a new LCD instrument cluster, and Smartphone Connectivity. The new Kawasaki Ninja 500 is Australia’s favourite LAMS motorcycle and its popular with a lot of experienced riders as well. The Ninja 500 delivers 33.4 kW at 9,000 rpm with 46.6 Nm of torque and weighs only 171 kg. More than enough power for LAMS riders and to keep everyone else interested as well.

Maia is new to motorcycling and so far she’s doing it all right. Maia came into our brand-new Procycles Yamaha Hornsby store to sit on a few of the LAMS bikes and ask some advice about where to start. Like most first-timers, Maia wasn’t so fussed about the specs, but easy to ride, comfort, and of course good looks, were high on her list of priorities.

Our freshly-minted Yamaha sales guys steered Maia towards Yamaha’s new model R3. She absolutely loved its beautiful Nebular Blue / White colorway and new generation R-Series styling with improved aesthetics.

It was hard for Igor to find a replacement for his Multistrada, but as soon as he test rode our Procycles Sydney BMW M1000XR. demo, he knew he was on a winner.

BMW’s new M1000 XR is an engineering masterpiece that brings sportbike performance to the crossover touring category. With a bit of M-sport magic, BMW has turned this already rapid tourer into a devastatingly quick missile that’s comfortable enough for two.

BMW has added “M” magic into the S1000 XR, creating a machine that’s faster, sharper, and more capable than ever before. At the heart of the M1000 XR is the brilliant inline-four shift-cam engine from the game-changing S1000 RR superbike. With a staggering 201hp, cutting-edge aerodynamics, and top-shelf components, the M1000 XR redefines what a sports tourer can be, and is comfortable enough for touring around the country, yet quick enough to embarrass lots of Euro-sport machines on a track day. With a few M tweaks, BMW has produced a bike with all the performance of a superbike, still retaining supreme comfort for those who don’t want to be crouched over in a typical sportsbike position.

Procycles is Sydney’s newest Yamaha dealer and Philip is our first Yamaha WR450F customer, in the Procycles Yamaha Sydney store, at St Peters. It features a 450cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-stroke engine, delivering 58 hp, with a 5-speed transmission. The bike's lightweight aluminium frame makes it agile, while the fully adjustable, 48mm KYB inverted fork and a KYB rear shock suspension soaks up the bumps on any terrains. At Procycles KTM Sydney, we see a fair bit of Craig. He’s bought KTM’s and BMW’s off us in the past and he still owns a BMW R1250 GS Trophy for his serious, long-distance adventure touring, but he also wanted something a little lighter for the somewhat more technical stuff and to have a bit of fun on the weekends, without having to get his big bike out.

When Craig saw KTM announcing the upcoming 390 Adventure R and he took a close look at the real-world specs, he contacted us and got his name on the list to see one as soon as they were released. Good choice Craig. The KTM 390 Adventure R is the most off-road capable middleweight adventure bike in its segment. It’s got plenty of useable power, the most complex WP suspension in its class and the brakes work well on and off the road.

The Adventure R feels nimble, weighing in at 165kg dry, it’s 10kg less than the CFMoto 450MT, and a shorter wheelbase gives it a more agile feel in the dirt. It has a tall screen and a neat Nav-Tower style display unit that houses a 5-inch TFT display, a USB-C outlet and the electronics suite with a solid array of rider aids. Plus, an LED headlight. Within the 390 Adventure R’s bag of e-tricks you’ll find three ride modes, a 3D IMU that governs lean-sensitive ABS and traction control, throttle response adjustability, as well as optional Quickshifter and cruise control.

Steve is from Victoria and was up in Sydney for the BMW GS Master Class. He’s a Safari veteran. Steve has a good mate, Max, who is a long term Procycles BMW Sydney customer. Max brought him into the dealership for a tyre swap, in preparation for the Master Class. While they were here, they were checking out what bikes we had on the floor, when they came across this BMW R1300 GS Adventure, one of our fully loaded, quality trades. The previous owner was also a regular GS Safari-goer and the guys recognised the bike. They also knew the owner only put nothing but quality parts on his bikes. From the full luggage system to the additional Lone Rider fog lights using HEX ezCan integration. We were able to turn this bike around within the day so Steve could use his new bike for the GS training. A great opportunity to get to know his GS and then enjoy the ride home back to Victoria.

This is Jaime and her brand new 2026 Kawasaki ZX-6R. Jaime called us at Procycles Kawasaki Hornsby a few weeks ago looking for a new 2026 Kawasaki ZX-6R. At the time, the ’26 model hadn’t been released, although we were expecting to get the bikes any day. Jaime knew she wanted her bike in the KRT colours, so we made sure she was first on the list. And it wasn’t long before we were ringing Jamie to tell her it was new bike day.Jaime knows her stuff. The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a real SuperSport motorcycle. She chose the new colour scheme of Lime Green with Matte Grape stripes and Steel Grey highlights. Key features include a 4.3-inch TFT display, Integrated Power Modes combining Traction Control, a Quick Shifter, and the Intelligent Anti-lock Brake system. Suspension is courtesy of Showa Separate Function fully adjustable Big Piston Forks, hangingoff a Pressed aluminium perimeter frame. The Ninja ZX-6R grips the road with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.

Jonah is new to motorcycle riding and was looking for a solid first bike that suited his style and size, while being practical for everyday use.

He came into our Procycles Kawasaki Sydney dealership to have a look around, gather some information, and hopefully find the right bike. Something with a full-frame size that would offer a comfortable ride for his height.

Our sales guys recommended he try the Kawasaki Versys-X 300, a versatile, entry-level adventure-style motorcycle that’s affordable, with comfortable ergos, and surprising off-road capability. Shifts are quick and crisp. It was pretty clean when we traded it, but just to be sure, the bike went onto our workshop for its 40-point health check and came out the other side with flying colours. This naked boxer roadster combines agility, performance and comfort in a package that is as suitable for twisty mountain roads, daily commuting, and especially a two-up tour.

The 1,254 cc 2-cylinder air/liquid-cooled boxer engine delivers 136 hp and 105 ft-lbs of torque. Thanks to BMW ShiftCam technology, which varies intake valve timing and lift, the R1250 R delivers outstanding power and torque across the entire rpm range.

Gabriel is one of the Procycles Sydney salesmen here at St Peters. Ever since he started riding, Gabriel always dreamed of owning a BMW S1000RR, his ultimate motorcycle.

After waiting ages, and riding a few other bikes in the meantime, Gabriel finally decided to make that dream a reality. He put a plan together but still had plenty of time to organise his selection of accessories, including an SC-Project exhaust system. Finally, his new bike day came around and Gabriel was able to take his dream motorcycle home.

Quite a few of the Procycles people ride BMW S1000 RRs. They can ride anything we sell, but, choose to spend their own money on an RR. Simply because an S1000 is about as exciting as a road-going superbike gets. The rush of controlled acceleration is addictive beyond all reason. With 210 hp on tap, it’s aggressive, powerful and fast. Yet you can ride it comfortably to work, thanks to BMW’s legendary ergonomics. He has just traded his R1300 GS Adventure on a new BMW R1300 RT Triple Black, a motorcycle which has been redefined by BMW, with an emphasis on carefully selected equipment, comfort and technology. The result is the ultimate touring experience, with a new more powerful 1300cc Boxer engine, enhanced electronic suspension and excellent wind protection.

The new BMW R1300 RT already comes standard with the Dynamic Package and Comfort Package. But it also features a whole host  of smart technology, rider aids, safety and performance inclusions. Stephen was happily cruising around on his BMW R18 Bagger, but he was missing the excitement of a sports bike. When BMW went all-out and launched the R1300 R with major upgrades, it was enough to convince Stephen to trade the Bagger on this gorgeous next-gen sports tourer, with Option 719 high-quality optional equipment and boasting state-of-the-art technology. This new model comes in an exclusive colour scheme: Blackstorm Metallic. With visual highlights, such as the painted seat insert, the painted air blades and the exclusive “Option 719” badge to complete the look.

Stephen gets the performance he was missing with outputs of 107kW (145hp) at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Max revs are bumped to 9,000rpm, with improved smoothness and fuel efficiency thanks to BMW’s ShiftCam variable valve timing technology.

A completely redesigned chassis with a new steel sheet metal main frame and die-cast aluminium rear subframe sheds weight while improving rigidity and mass centralisation. The result is sharper handling, and better cornering stability. Lighter 17-inch wheels save over 1.4kg in rotational mass.

The suspension has had a major upgrade with a new 47mm USD fork up front and revised EVO Paralever rear setup. For the first time on a production motorcycle, the optional Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) system allows the fork’s spring rate to be electronically adjusted mid-ride, alongside damping and rear preload compensation—great news for riders coping with different luggage loads.

Stephen initially wanted a manual, but after he test rode the Automatic, at Procycles BMW Sydney, there was no going back. BMW’s Automated Shift Assistant enables fully automatic clutch operation for seamless gear changes—either manually via the foot lever or in a fully automatic mode.

Christophe had a BMW R1250 GS Triple Black for his off-road adventures and a Triumph 1200 RS for when he felt like some sport riding action. But what he really wanted was one bike that could do both. Christophe needed a brand-new BMW R1300 GS Triple Black. The ultimate all-rounder. So, Christophe came into Procycles BMW Sydney and traded both his older bikes on this gorgeous BMW R1300 GS Triple Black with Forged wheels. Now he has the best in both Adventure and Sports riding.

This is no secret. The GS is arguably the original and the highest regarded large-capacity adventure tourer in the world. Nothing else compares to a GS. It’s ability off-road is legendary, but it is the motorcycles’ touring capability that really impresses. The Triple Black variant is one of six R1300 GS versions available. It is aimed more at touring with a pillion and carrying luggage. Comfort wise, the GS is superb. Christophe can ride his GS for days on end and not be uncomfortable. And when it comes to performance, the new generation GS power is up 7kW to 107kW (143hp) and torque is up 6Nm to 149Nm. That’s more torque than a Superduke and, thanks to the power boost and the massive 12kg weight saving [now 237kg], the GS really gets up and pins your ears back when you give it plenty in the bottom and mid-range revs.

All Theja’s mates were originally from the dark side. Lots of them on Harleys. Then one of them started riding a BMW. It didn’t take long before, one by one, they transitioned over to various BMW models. Only Theja was holding out. Hanging on to his Enfield. After some convincing from his mates, and a few embarrassing group rides, Theja finally made the jump to BMW.

JC is a long-term BMW enthusiast. He’s owned GS’, been through a series of RR’s and done heaps of klms on the previous R1250 RT model.  Now JC has gone back to the RT, but the latest R1300 RT configuration and this time with Auto Shift Assist. JC Always joked that he could ride his RT just like his RRs – hard and fast. And the new Auto Shift Assist feature is just a better Quikshifter. In reality, what he was really after was a bike with real-world performance, that was also comfortable for touring, with automatic suspension compensation, for when a  passenger is game enough to get on the back. Swapping to the new BMW R1300 RT, gives JC the best of both worlds. With 145 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque on tap, the new R1300 RT delivers powerful, blistering acceleration. The bike has remarkably nimble handling and a vast array of intuitive, electronic rider and safety aids all visible on the large TFT dash screen.

Congratulations Huang – you are our first Procycles Yamaha Sydney customer. Huang is doing everything right. He’s already a passionate Yamaha enthusiast. He began his riding journey on a Yamaha R15M, then upgraded to an R3, but soon set his sights on the biggest bike he could ride on his restricted licence. He really wanted a brand-new 2025 Yamaha R7. When Huang heard that Procycles were Sydney’s new Yamaha dealer, and now he didn’t have go all the way out West to buy one, Huang came into Procycles Yamaha at St Peters and we worked out a super deal for him. We traded his 2025 R3 and Huang took delivery of his brand-new Yamaha R7.

Huang will be so happy he traded up to this brilliant motorcycle. The Yamaha R7 is a really popular middleweight sportbike. Both new and experienced riders rave about its accessible power and nimble handling. It features the same super-reliable CP2 parallel-twin engine found in the MT-07, delivering strong mid-range torque with a light, smooth slipper clutch. The bike comes equipped with high-quality, fully adjustable suspension and KYB front forks. The powerful brakes have a Brembo radial master cylinder. Brandon is one lucky motorcyclist. He finally got his hands on a brand new BMWS1000RR M Sport. And Brandon’s not done yet. He’s already making plans to fit a full SC-Project exhaust system, download the race tune and lots more.Even without the mods, this RR M Sport is a serious motorcycle weapon. Apotent bike on the road or track, with blistering acceleration, great brakes, quick throttle, amazing rider aids and electronic features, plus comfortable touring ergonomics, unlike most superbikes in this class. The RR comes standard with an incredible list of features, but by choosing the M Sport Brandon also gets all the trick BMW M features, like theM Billet Pack, M Carbon Wheels, M Endurance Seat, M Blue Brake Callipers, and Black Fuel Filler Cap. When you are used to riding a motorcycle that delivers maximum comfort, incredible dynamic performance, state-of-the-art technology and the ultimate touring experience, and it’s time for an update, you stick to what you know. That’s why our Procycles BMW Sydney customer Norbert decided trade his BMW R1250 RT on the latest model R1300 RT Impulse, fitted with the amazing Automated Manual Transmission gearbox.

For such a big motorcycle, Norbert’s new 1300 RT delivers powerful, pure acceleration. With 145 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque, he can get to 100 klms per hour in approximately 3.7 seconds. The Impulse variant comes in Metallic blue with the dark chrome exhaust, forged handlebars, variable wind deflectors, and a brushed aluminum fuel tank.

Other options include BMW’s Riding Assistant, which adds radar for Active Cruise Control, as well as Front Collision Warning, Rear End Collision Warning, and Lane Change Warning systems. The vast array of options also includes audio packages, a variety of different heated seats, and the ability to bolster the bike’s trio of riding modes with an additional two settings by selecting the Riding Modes Pro Package. BMW’s Automated manual transmission, replaces the clutch with two computer-operated electromechanical actuators. There’s a fully automatic “D” mode and a manual-shift “M” setting, which lets you change gear using a familiar-feeling foot shifter, even though it’s connected only electronically to the transmission.

Sez could not wipe the smile of his face when he got his new BMW F900 GS Enduro. It just looked amazing in Black Storm Metallic colours. This motorcycle is the latest offering in the ultra-competitive mid-capacity adventure bike segment.

BMW has gone to town in an effort to make this new model more exciting and appealing to a wider range of riders. And along the way it’s shed a significant 14kg from then old 850 model it replaces and gained 15kW (20hp). The BMW F900 GS Enduro’s parallel-twin engine produces 77 kW (105 hp) and 93 Nm of torque. It has a kerb weight of 219 kg, a 14.5-litre fuel tank, and comes with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels. Key components include a bridge-type steel frame, manually and hydraulically adjustable suspension with 230mm front and 215mm rear travel, and twin 305mm front discs with a single 265mm rear disc brake. The Enduro spec features fully adjustable Showa forks and a Sachs shock, providing excellent feedback and control across various terrains. Plus Sez gets 6.5" TFT Display with Connectivity, Heated Grips, Hand Protection Widened Enduro Footrests and a handy 12V Socket with USB Port.

Michael did well with his previous BMW R1250 GS Adventure, clocking up nearly 60,000 klms on it in about 3 years. He loved that bike and it never let him down. But when it was time to update there was a definite upside. Now Michael has a brand-new BMW R1300 GS Trophy, fully kitted out with the new Vario luggage kit and optioned up with the Enduro Pro Package.

The Trophy is a variant of the R1300 GS, distinguished by its sporty Racing Blue Metallic paint and specific graphics. It features a 1,300cc, 145hp boxer engine, 19-litre fuel tank, and a wet weight of 237kg. From the radiator grille guards to the high rider's seat - everything is designed to tap into it’s full off-road potential, combining power and comfort for various terrains. The extra Trophy features include the Dynamics Package, Intelligent Emergency Call, Headlight Pro and Preparation for the Navigation Device & ConnectedRide Navigator.

When Demetris heard there was only 10 days left before BMW’s huge Demo Sale Event finishes, he rushed straight into Procycles BMW Sydney and snapped up this BMW S1000 R Sport in Black Storm / Mugello Yellow at an amazing price. This is an exciting motorcycle. A Super Naked that pumps out an arm-stretching 205 hp, with weight of 199 kgs ready to go. And for the 2025 model, BMW has added some extra goodies, including an M Quick-Action throttle and a shorter final drive ratio, with a 17-tooth front sprocket matching to a 46-tooth rear. The bike also gets BMW’s Standard Drag Torque Control (MSR) and Engine Brake function, usually a feature on the higher-end M models. The system works in conjunction with a slipper clutch to prevent the rear wheel from locking up under heavy deceleration, quickly closing the throttle.

This ever-evolving superbike now has more aerodynamic trim panels with winglets, front wheel mudguard M Brake Ducts, and other performance-oriented details, such as the quick action throttle that reduces the throttle path by 14 degrees. So, Michael came in to see us at Procycles BMW Sydney, in St Peters, to trade his S1000 R on a more city-friendly F900 XR Sport. The BMW F900 XR Sport edition is an M-Sport variant of the new generation XR line that comes with more M-themed lightweight components, wheel rims, a sports exhaust and of course this stunning motorsport tri-colour scheme. It also offers a TFT display, wind protection, and adaptable suspension. Jamie is a true bike lover with an impressive history of owning and riding lots of great motorcycles that span across most major brands. Jamie’s always on the lookout for the next best thing and recently he was asking himself the age-old question – what should my next bike be?

He had narrowed it down to two serious contenders: the BMW M1000R and the KTM 1390 SuperDuke R. Rex has been a loyal customer of Procycles BMW Hornsby for over 15 years. And now, six bikes later, he’s finally had to admit the height of his BMW R1250 Adventure is getting to be a bit of a struggle. We spoke about it in the showroom and we got him a test ride on the new R1300 GS Trophy, with the added benefit of Adaptive Vehicle Height Control. Rex was immediately relieved when he was able to flat foot the bike with no issues.

This new adaptive vehicle height control on the R1300 GS is amazing. It’s an automatic suspension system that lowers the bike by 30mm when coming to a stop for better ground accessibility and ease of getting on or off. When the bike is stationary or at low speeds (below about 25 klm), the system lowers the seat height, and as you start moving, it automatically raises the chassis back to the standard ride height. A great convenience for our older riders or those of us who are vertically challenged. The adaptive height control is part of the broader Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) system, which also adjusts damping and spring stiffness in real-time for optimal comfort and handling.

Andre did his research, looking for a great all-rounder sports bike, preferably a naked so he had the practicality as well as the performance.

The 100 Year R nineT features a compact tank, upright seating position, and premium materials, including an exclusive paint finish, numerous Option 719 milled parts in black, classic 719 wheels, and a distinctive 100-year anniversary badge on the tank which is painted black with white double pinstriping, giving it a timeless elegance. At Procycles Sydney we traded an immaculate 2025 Yamaha MT-10 SP. After it passed our Procycles 40-Point health check with flying colours, we listed the bike and the reaction was immediate. Heaps of eager enquiries and lots of riders turning up to view the bike. Gregory was very fortunate with his timing. He was the first to act. We arranged a great deal to trade his MT-07 and put a sold sticker on the MT-10 SP. No wonder this model is so sought after. The MT-10SP is an incredible Hyper-Naked motorcycle.

The MT-10 SP is equipped with a refined version of the 998cc liquid-cooled CP4 crossplane engine derived from the race-ready YZF-R1 powerplant. And the first in the world to be fitted with Öhlins’ all-new 6-mode electronically controlled spool valve suspension. The Kawasaki Ninja e-1 is a rider-friendly, lightweight electric motorcycle designed for urban commuting, featuring easy twist-and-go operation, a comfortable riding position, and useful features like Walk mode with reverse. Josh has always been onto his Sport bikes and is currently owns a Kawasaki ZX-10R. So, it was a given that when his son Jonathan came of age, he would want to ride. Plus, Dad liked the idea of having a touring buddy. The family came into Procycles Kawasaki Sydney, originally to look at 500 Ninja, but the budget didn’t stretch that far. So, we showed them this really tidy Ninja 400, reduced the price, and they didn’t think twice. We even put a new set of tyres on the bike … just to keep Mum happy. The Ninja 400 was the best-selling predecessor before the 500 was released, so Jonathan still got a great LAMS bike and won’t lag too far behind his dad when they head out together.

And most importantly, now standard on the F900 R, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), plus ABS Pro, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC). New styling changes include a slimmer rear end with integrated indicators and brake lights, and new headlight side trim.

Sebastian is new to the wonderful world of riding and had been searching for his first bike for quite some time. He took a thoughtful and methodical approach - researching various models from a wide range of brands. Alok came to us with a shopping list of bikes he wanted to try. He really liked the full power Kawasaki Ninja 650, but he thought he should also look at KTM’s 790 and maybe the NK800 from CFMOTO. Hannah’s parents are dyed-in-the-wool BMW adventure enthusiasts. They have owned GS after GS. Our handsome customer, Stephen, had taken a long break from riding since the birth of his two sons, now his kids are all grown up and with retirement around the corner, he knew it was time to get back on the road; in-style is an understatement. We placed an order for Stephen in March for the top of the line, new BMW 1300 GS Adventure in the option 719 spec, with all the bells and whistles. After a few anticipated months, Stephen got the go ahead for retirement, and his next adventure was just around the corner. We delivered his bike with smiles all around. Kayle had been off the bikes for some time and was on the lookout for a solid LAMS option to help him ease back into riding. He came into Procycles Kawasaki Sydney on a Saturday and spoke with our sales team, we walked him through of the learner-approved bikes in stock. We showed him a range of options, both new and used, but one bike particularly stood out. Amongst our inventory was a low-kilometre Ninja 500 trade, immaculate and already fitted with an Akrapovič exhaust. We tricked Kayle. We started the bike. It sounded fantastic and he knew straight away. This was the one. Kayle gave us a deposit and asked us to fit frame sliders, for that extra level of safety. We prepped it over the weekend, and by Monday afternoon, Kayle picked up his new ride.Congratulationsmate. The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is the best-ever for not only first-timers, but also experienced riders who want a bike that works perfectly and has enough power to keep it interesting.

Josh has been coming into Procycles BMW Sydney for many years. He is one of our keenest enduro riders. But we lost contact with him recently. He was off somewhere riding a Tenere! Josh admits he bought too soon. Shortly after he took delivery of the Tenere, BMW released the F900 GS and Josh made the mistake of test riding it! However, it was way too soon to trade up. Then a few weeks ago, he was in getting his bike serviced when he saw we had an ex-fleet BMW F900 GS Enduro that was priced very aggressively. Josh couldn’t resist any longer. He knew it was time to upgrade. Who could blame him. This is a serious middleweight for riders wanting more off-road capability.

The Enduro model is even better than the standard F900 GS. It’s optioned up with the ‘Enduro Package Pro’ and the ‘Dynamics Package’. Josh gets trick Showa 45 mm fully-adjustable forks, an equally trick Sachs shock, and taller ‘bar risers. The Dynamic package includes the Quick-shifter Pro, Riding Modes Pro, a Key Fob, Nav prep, Tyre-pressure monitoring, Cruise control, and an ‘endurance’ chain. The parallel-twin engine pumps out a competitive 105 hp and 93 Nm of torque. And the F900 GS comes with a five-year warranty. Josh can ride this thing for three years and sell it with two-years warranty still left on it!

Ian was one of the first Procycles BMW Sydney customers to get on the new generation BMW R1300 GS, and in just over a year clocked up more than 26,000 klm’s. He loved riding his GS, but, was curious to see what difference some of the options on the newer models would make to his ride. Ian test rode our Triple Black demonstrator fitted with Automated Shift Assistant and ended up buying it. He really liked the ASA function and the full suite of other BMW options that come with the Triple Black variant. Ian completed his BMW with black Wunderlich Engine Protection Bars, a Bash plate and the black Akrapovic exhaust.

BMW’s new Automated Shift Assistant [ASA] function allows fully-automatic or semi-automatic gear changes and eliminates the 'bar-mounted clutch lever. Starting, stopping and manoeuvering become a breeze, while riders also have the choice to shift gears manually. The ASA features two electromechanical actuators that automate the clutch and gearshift, controlled by a Transmission Control Unit (TCU) that’s connected to sensors. They monitor revs, speed, gear position and more. All designed to ensure smooth shifts, to prevent stalls and allow you to pull away and come to a halt without having to worry about operating the clutch at all.
